Nerd. Poorly structured song based off the last paragraph of Orson Scott Card's Enders Game. I read the book for the 4th time this summer while I was working on Babes. It inspires too much.
"So they boarded a starship and went from world to world. Wherever they stopped, he was always Andrew Wiggin, itinerant speaker for the dead, and she always Valentine, historian errant, writing down the stories of the living while Ender spoke the stories of the dead. And always Ender carried with him a dry white cocoon, looking for the world where the hive-queen could awaken and thrive in peace. He looked a long time."
lyrics
for almost always he carried with him
a dry white cocoon for his mistress
and searching for a home where she could
attain the sacrifice and feel reborn
because she strives to attain the highest perfections
it's yours and ours to figure out
but it's alright
cuz space will carry our weight
the suns will yield to our speed
